BHF Clinical Research Collaborative
Since 2019, the British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Collaborative has been supporting the planning and delivery of clinical research in heart and circulatory diseases in the UK. The BHF CRC provides the infrastructure to facilitate, enhance and coordinate the research planning of existing cardiovascular and surgical societies. They have supported research development within the BACPR by providing coordination for the internal research group, and through their Research Development Fund, which has awarded three BACPR applications so far.
In addition, the CRC offers a range of resources for emerging and established researchers in cardiovascular health, among which is the sOOPR podcast. Delivered by the BJCA, the podcast covers a range of topics relevant to early-career researchers.
Recently, the BHF CRC launched a National Clinical Research Database, which provides a platform for professional researchers and members of the public, including patients, service users and their families and carers, to connect and collaborate across all stages of research, including planning, design and implementation. For registrations and more information about the Research Database, please visit their website here.
